Nomura's Global Markets department provides liquidity, market insights, and execution services to clients worldwide across various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities. Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop customized structured derivatives (rates, credit, hybrid and FX) products and provide them for corporate and institutional clients.
  • Work very closely with sales and trading to understand client objectives and deliver product ideas.
  • Analyze complex financial problems and create/use quantitative models to price structured products.
  • Responsible for executing hedging transactions and monitoring risks of structured books.
  • Prepare pitch books, termsheets and marketing materials.
  • Conduct stress testing, scenario analysis and risk assessment of structured transactions.
  • Stay updated on regulatory developments and market trends.
  • Coordinate across internal teams (legal, risk, finance and compliance) to ensure smooth product approval and execution.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Strong academic background in quantitative fields (mathematics, engineering, finance, or economics)
  • Prior experience or knowledge in options is required
  • Strong quantitative skills and sensitivity to numbers
  • Experience in pricing derivatives (rates, credit, hybrid, and FX) would be a plus.
  • Strong passion for financial markets
  • Proficiency in Excel, VBA, and at least one programming language (Python, R or similar) would be beneficial
  • Awareness of regulatory and capital impacts on structured transactions
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Korean and English;
  • A strong sense of personal and professional integrity and teamwork;
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new situations;
  • A high level of energy and a keen desire to learn new concepts.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver within tight deadline
