Your Role:

 

  • The HR advisor role will be based in Taiwan and will work with the regional HR team.  The role will report into HR Lead for Taiwan in Hong Kong
  • The role provides HR advisory to Taiwan, and works very closely with respective function heads, divisional HRBPs, HR Specialist teams and Taiwan regulatory and government bodies to deliver an exceptional level of service to the Nomura business. 
  • As a pro-active, commercial and results-driven HR advisor, the successful candidate will deliver on the objective of working with clients to deliver an exceptional people agenda, resolve and advise on HR issues and implementing best HR practice consistent with Firm policy and with the strategy of the business. The successful candidate must be able to operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with regional HR Business Partners Team to drive, lead and execute HR initiatives for business division regionally with a particular focus in Taiwan.
  • Work closely with business heads and business managers to understand the business, its needs and leveraging the understanding for HR delivery and guide them to resolve HR issues.
  • Act as business partner to line managers on all human resources matters and provide human resources expertise in implementing business initiatives including and not limited to performance management, compensation practices, learning and development, and Firm policies and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of the employment regulations and practice in Taiwan to ensure HR operational processes within Taiwan are delivered efficiently and in compliance with local regulations, enforce adherence and mitigate any potential risks.
  • Partner with campus recruiting and the business to implement and execute graduate and intern recruiting initiatives and programs.
  • Work in conjunction with the specialist recruitment team to ensure resourcing requirements are proactively understood and met in the region.
  • Partner with other HRBPs across functions and regions to foster teamwork and a positive work environment through frequent collaboration and sharing of best practices.
  • Partner with specialist Talent and L&D teams to implement ongoing training, career development planning and implementation of employee development programs based on business needs.
  • Employee retention, employee connect, propagate our employee value proposition.
  • Participate, provide advice and implement various people initiatives through focused work streams.
  • Represent the firm in Employer, Employee and Government bodies as and when required.
  • Assist in driving country metrics reports and coordinate auditors and regulatory requests.
  • Oversee and participate in HR projects which involve change of existing HR policies and processes in line with local legal and statutory requirements.

 

Requirements:

  • 5 to 8 years of human resources experience with client coverage, including experience consulting with senior managers in a fast-paced, demanding and rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English
  • Strong Taiwan local market and statutory knowledge required.
  • Strong technical human resources expertise, including compensation, employee relations and staffing.
  • Ability to work independently with excellent communication skills and the ability to frame problems and solutions quickly and concisely.
  • Must be detail-oriented and also able to juggle multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
  • Effective at building relationships with business leaders and employees and able to accomplish his/her objectives through influence and persuasion.
  • A problem-solver, able to think strategically while possessing the knowledge and intelligence to quickly solve day-to-day human resources issues. S/he should possess the judgment and maturity to balance the interests of the division with the overall goals and values of Nomura.
