Responsibilities
About the Desk / Function:
The role is for a trader to join the Rates Trading team, which is part of Global Markets. Products traded across the desk include interest rate derivatives and bonds. This role specifically will sit on the bond desk, responsible for managing the ACGB trading book, although will also have exposure to SSA and Semi trading. Our clients are located both in Australia and offshore and include hedge funds and real-money clients.
- Provide pricing and solutions to clients and financial institutions across the Global Markets product set
- Gather and analyse market data and communicate relevant information to portfolio managers, analysts and other traders
- Develop and manage relationships with broker/dealers
- Maintain spreadsheets, market data and trading data
- Achieve individual and team P/L targets
- Managing risk on trading positions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, & CFA candidacy or Masters degree.
- Solid understanding of rates products, particularly ACGBs
- Experience trading across the suite of rates products
- Strong Work Ethic and Intellectual Curiosity - Candidate need to work hard to fill gaps in knowledge and well as to deliver on his/her responsibilities
- Critical and independent thinking
- Fluent in English - written and oral
