Overview:

The position falls within our Credit Risk Management (CRM) team based in Singapore. The CRM team forms part of our 2nd Line of Defense (2LOD), working alongside the front office banking and credit team for transaction due diligence (DD).

 

As the Credit Analyst, Securitization, you will be responsible for reviewing structured finance transactions across AEJ, initially focusing on the Australian market and expanding to other markets in the future. These transactions involve financing against a collateral pool of either mortgage loans, SME loans or consumer loans. The financing is similar to securitization in a warehouse format i.e. revolving facility structure.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake DD visits / with clients, third party DD providers and lead credit discussions.
  • Conduct DD on the key service providers e.g. originator, servicer etc. including underwriting policies and processes, compliance with law and regulations, organizational operational and capacity etc.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of the collateral pool based on past performance, industry and economy outlook and composition of the specific portfolio. The role also involve financial modelling of the pool to arrive at base and stress loss estimate distribution and cash flows in a wind-down scenario to assign internal credit rating.
  • Thoroughly understand the transaction structure and actively discuss with front office on portfolio parameters and eligibility criteria for the transaction.
  • Prepare independent credit analysis and present credit views to Senior Risk Management / Committees.
  • Regular monitoring of the portfolio for early identification of any deterioration in the collateral pool and mitigating actions required.

 

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited University
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience analyzing structured finance transactions such as securitization types which includes assessing underlying assets, cash flow, credit risk evaluation, structural features, legal and regulatory considerations.
  • Experience with credit due diligence which includes analyzing structures, financial analysis, risk assessment, credit rating and preparing detailed credit report summarizing the analysis and findings.
  • Experience with financial modelling for securitization type transactions.
  • Good organization and time management skills. Should be able to work under time pressure.
  • Good inter-personal and strong verbal communication skills. Should be at ease in communicating with Sales and external clients.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
