Department Overview
Nomura's Finance department manages the company's financial operations and provides financial guidance to support business decision-making. The team collaborates with senior leadership, business units, and stakeholders to develop effective financial strategies, providing guidance on financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to align financial operations with business objectives.
Treasury is an established function within the Finance division at Nomura. The department has regional teams in Japan, AEJ, EMEA and the US. The team is responsible for all aspects of liquidity and funding requirements of the firm in accordance with the Executive Management Boards mandated risk appetite and in compliance with regulatory liquidity metrics.
Role Description
The Treasury Funding Associate will be part of AEJ treasury Funding Team covering all unsecured funding activities for AEJ entities and all AEJ currencies across Global entities. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment and managing time-sensitive critical tasks in a controlled and logical manner. There is also a requirement for innovation and process improvement in using digital tools.
Responsibilities
- Estimate, manage, and fund the business local currency requirements via FX swap, NDF, spot.
- Manage and optimize the regional legal entity liquidity pool investments.
- Monitor and manage the legal entity’s liquidity requirements due to Business activity or regulatory and internal liquidity model requirements.
- Mandate and price Nomura short- and long-term debt issuances for international Structured Note Programme – EMTN. Coordinate the regular executive management committee meetings for the international issuance entity.
- Manage the Corporate entities capital activities such as Capital injections, Sub-debt, and Dividend.
- Execute monthly corporate FX sell down and CTA hedging.
- Update and maintain policy and procedure documentation when requires.
Requirements
- University degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Treasury function within a financial institution
- Experience in bond pricing and yield calculations, execution of debt capital market transactions (e.g. EMTN issuances), FX hedging strategies (e.g. swaps, NDFs), and secured financing operations (e.g. repo and stock loan transactions)
- Experience with financial markets, fixed-income instruments, funding strategies, and proficient in financial modelling, analysis, and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with complex financial data.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Must be able to work well under tight deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities.
