Function Overview:

The FX & Emerging Markets BFC (PC) team serves as the strategic financial advisor to the CFO, driving revenue optimization and balance sheet excellence across the Finance division from our Singapore hub.  The team oversees the complete spectrum of Fixed Income (Rates, FX) financial instruments—from vanilla to complex structured and hybrid products—spanning across regional and global underlying’s. The team acts as the data steward of firm’s performance and supports the CFO to project and challenge business performance leveraging the right financial metrics to optimize ROE. The team is also responsible for booking model, discounting curve changes, legal entity controls and new business enablement

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for value-add analysis, advisory, control & governance around the revenue generating capacity of FX & EM business. As a control function, identification of control gaps and managing financial implications and providing strategic solutions is key for this role.
  • Take ownership, and be accountable for the timely and accurate calculation, verification, reporting of daily revenue & BS to internal stakeholders and managing issues independently.
  • Undertake smooth and accurate closure to month-end books, inclusive of Balance Sheet substantiation
  • Interaction with Business, Middle Office, Quants, Treasury desk, Operations, FC&R and other functions to resolve booking, P&L attribution, technical accounting (IFRS, USGAAP), valuation and financial resource related queries etc.
  • Handle queries on Treasury related charges, bespoke transaction deals and resolve any adhoc issues around P&L, Balance Sheet and valuation matters working closely with Valuation Control team
  • Support cross-regional and LE bookings, new product initiatives and various projects involving the Businesses. Drive projects to solve problems around bookings, LE, p&l & BS and valuations (e.g. financial industry changes like adopting new discounting benchmarks etc.)
  • Always develop strong partnership with the various stakeholders with a solution minded approach on key focus areas.
  • Constant focus on Process re-engineering, Automation and leveraging digital tools to optimize process and while ensuring best practices.

 

Requirements:

 

  • University Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Economics, Accounting and other professional qualifications (FRM, CFA, CA) is required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as VP in product control/valuations/market risk in investment banking or a large financial services company
  • Experience in FRTB (TBBB  boundary), P&L attribution, cross-border (legal entity) bookings and controls
  • Understanding of basic accounting concepts and knowledge of technical accounting and financial resources (capital, leverage exposure, NSFR etc.) is preferred
  • Can demonstrate understanding of Vanilla and Structured Products within Rates and FX, including valuation, pricing and associated risks.
  • Understanding of liability side of business (e.g. Note Issuance) and Treasury related funding matters is preferred
  • Proven analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and deliver results within deadlines
  • Experience in managing or contributing to cross-functional projects, ensuring clear communication and timely execution
  • Digital tooling (AI, PBI, Alteryx, Python, VBA) and MS Office for data analysis, reporting and data visualization will get preference
