Role Description

Nomura provides a comprehensive suite of lending and credit solutions across its global wholesale, investment management, and banking divisions, targeting corporate, institutional, and high-net-worth clients. The firm focuses on bridging East-West markets, offering tailored financing, structured lending, and, increasingly, private credit strategies. 

 

The Head of SEAMEA Lending & Credit Solutions will work closely with Relationship Managers (RMs), Investment Product & Advisory Solutions (IPAS) team and Control functions to originate, structure and execute financing transactions for IWM clients globally.

 

Responsibilities

 

Strategic Leadership & Client Solutions

  • Lead the origination, structuring, and execution of bespoke multi-asset financing solutions for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients
  • Partner with senior relationship managers to meet clients and provide strategic advisory services on complex credit structures
  • Drive revenue generation through credit solutions that attract assets under management and trading income

 

Product Development & Innovation

  • Spearhead the implementation of new cross-asset credit products from conception to market launch
  • Collaborate with regional coverage teams and product heads to enhance platform capabilities and competitive positioning
  • Develop innovative financing structures that optimize client outcomes while managing institutional risk

 

Credit Risk Management & Governance

  • Structure, author, and present comprehensive credit proposals for new transactions, modifications, and annual reviews to internal credit committees
  • Ensure all credit solutions comply with regulatory requirements across key Asia Pacific markets
  • Balance risk optimization with client service excellence, considering individual client profiles and requirements

 

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and client experience
  • Work closely with Risk, Operations, and Compliance teams to ensure seamless transaction execution
  • Mentor and develop junior team members while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement

 

Requirements

  • Minimum Degree in Finance or Business
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a progressive leadership experience in private banking, wealth management with demonstrated success in a senior credit position
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in structuring sophisticated lending solutions and credit products for ultra-high-net-worth clients, with deep understanding of multi-asset collateral structures and cross-border financing arrangements
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience analyzing complex credit scenarios, develop comprehensive risk assessments, and present compelling proposals to senior credit committees and executive stakeholders
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in originating and executing high-value financing transactions (typically USD 10 million plus) in the wealth management sector
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing private banking and wealth management lending across key Asia Pacific markets, including Singapore MAS regulations, Hong Kong SFC requirements, and cross-border compliance considerations
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences
  • Experience managing client relationships at the C-suite level and working effectively with internal stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
  • Hold a professional certification such as CFA, FRM or equivalent risk management
