Functional Overview
This is a position within Global Middle Office (GMO) team supporting the Flow / Structured Rates and Treasury desks based in Singapore. In terms of product coverage, the desk trades in flow OTC Rates, FX, exchange traded products and exotic hybrid structures & notes.
Role Description
• Support Emerging Market Flow Rates and Structured Rates trading desks in timely trade capture in adherence to global regulatory requirements (eg. Dodd-Frank, MAS, JFSA, MiFID II) and resolve trade-related issues
• Ensure that the key middle office controls are performed daily such as trade validation, trade life-cycle management, position/risk reconciliations, exception monitoring and T+0 P&L flash
• Liaise with operations and other corporate function support groups to ensure proper settlement and timely break resolution
• Facilitate portfolio optimization initiatives like compressions and coupon-blending for Emerging Market Flow Rates desk
• Provide oversight & governance of outsourced teams
• Partner with Front Office & Business Management to enable new business initiatives
• Collaborate with Global IT teams to implement Middle Office initiatives, global/local system enhancement and projects involving requirements gathering, migration and user-acceptance testing
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Middle office or Trade support role
• Minimum of 2 years of interest rate derivatives OR structured products experience required
• A self-motivated person with robust product exposure, good attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Ability to work effectively & collaborate in a global cross functional team environment
• Demonstrate strong risk awareness with focus on control
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to identify investigate issues & implement effective solutions
• Excellent inter-personal & communication skills and ability to quickly adapt to a continuously evolving dynamic work environment
• Strong working knowledge of Excel required; VBA, Python and Alteryx preferred.
