Divisional Overview

Nomura's Global Markets department offers clients worldwide liquidity, market insights, and execution services across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities. Role Description

  • Develop and drive FX strategy across Southeast Asia, with primary coverage of Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and India
  • Produce high-quality thematic research, market commentary and actionable FX trade ideas for institutional clients on a regular basis
  • Collaborate closely with Sales & Trading teams and engage regularly with institutional clients to communicate market views and investment ideas
  • Apply statistical and quantitative techniques including basic programming where appropriate to support FX research, trade ideas and market analysis
  • Contribute to regional and global FX strategy publications and collaborate with the wider strategy team on cross market research initiatives

 

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Finance, Economics or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in FX strategy within financial services
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience covering FX research across one or more Southeast Asian markets (India, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines or Singapore) as the role require handling Southeast Asian markets
  • Proven experience producing client facing FX research, including publishing market commentary, strategy reports and actionable trade ideas
  • Basic programming skills (R/Python/Matlab)with the ability to analyse market data and support analytical modelling
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex market views clearly to stakeholders
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work closely with global FX strategists and cross regional teams
