Role Overview:

This role sits within the Middle Office team, supporting FX trading across the Asia Ex-Japan region.

FX Middle Office works closely with Sales, Structuring, and Trading desks to ensure accurate trade capture and complete trade lifecycle management in the firm's books and records. The candidate will serve as the primary liaison between the Trading Desk and cross-functional stakeholders, proactively identify and remediate control risks, maintain robust governance frameworks, and drive strategic change initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and control effectiveness.
 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Verify timely and accurate trade capture in front office systems
  • Oversee end-to-end life cycle events and controls to ensure trades are processed accurately and timely
  • Main Operational contact for Front Office and regional stakeholders across functions
  • Handle escalations, resolve issues within agreed timeline and ensure smooth coordination across functions to support the business
  • Provide oversight and governance of offshore teams
  • Maintain strong operational controls to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and audit standards
  • Lead and perform root cause analysis and implement action plans to improve controls/ productivity
  • Review and present risk and control updates to senior management. Ensure risks are captured with appropriate action plans to address and manage risks indicators within risk threshold
  • Partner with Business Managers and corporate functions to support new initiatives with appropriate controls
  • Drive automation and digitalization initiatives to improve productivity and enhance controls
  • Implement best practices and utilize data to drive reviews and facilitate decision making

 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • Minimum 10 years of middle office experience in FX derivatives
  • Experience in FX structured products & precious metals with general knowledge of other macro products
  • Strong understanding of front to back trade flows as well as Risk and P&L
  • The candidate will need to manage and develop the team to deliver multiple priorities and support the business
  • Strong stakeholder communication with confidence to challenge and escalate appropriately
  • High attention to detail, with strong numerical skills and ability to manage operational risks
  • Proven capability to manage complex transactions / resolve exceptions
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.  Demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and commitment to delivery
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to adapt to dynamic situations
  • Self-motivated person, not afraid to suggest changes and re-invest process
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel required; Experience in Python, AI preferred
