Department Overview:
Nomura's Finance department oversees the company's financial operations and provides strategic guidance for business decision-making. Collaborating with senior leadership, business units, and stakeholders, the team develops effective financial strategies, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, to align financial operations with business objectives. Specializing in financial reporting, accounting, tax, treasury, and capital management, Nomura's Finance team is known for delivering exceptional service. Responsibilities:
• Managing teams responsible for Singapore country monthly, quarterly and annual reporting close, both Local (IFRS) and Group (USGAAP) and ongoing supervision of regulatory reporting and compliance.
• Supporting the hiring, developing and building a high-performance team of experts across the region.
• Managing the outsourcing engagement with inhouse service provider in India.
• Technical interpretation, advisory and implementation of Accounting Standards and regulatory requirements across the region.
• Leading key strategic initiatives for the region including a ledger implementation project.
• Managing the monthly and quarterly taxation reporting and completion of the annual tax returns (ECI and Final tax return).
• Overseeing Nomura International Funding and related issuance products.
• Managing the ongoing and annual audit process.
• Leading the implementation of process and control efficiencies.
• Maintain and enhance the overall control and governance framework.
• Represent Financial Control in local and regional strategic project initiatives.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
• Minimum 18 years of experience within Financial Institutions, or Big Four Audit Firms.
• Qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA or equivalent Accounting qualifications).
• Experience with US GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
• Expert knowledge across financial and non-financial MAS and Basel regulatory reporting including MAS 1111, MAS 1003, MAS 1015 and final Basel 3 reporting requirements.
• Strong understanding of liquidity and interest rate risk in the banking book including experience developing and implementing governance models to manage risk and reporting.
• Experience managing offshore service centres around process control and outsourcing governance.
• Knowledge in regulatory regimes in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Korea, India, Australia and Malaysia would be considered an asset.
• Demonstrated expertise in data management (e.g. Alteryx, BI Tools etc.).
• Must be able to work well under tight deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities.
• Expertise in Issuance Vehicles
