Department Overview

The Third Party Risk Management Team in AEJ is part of the Business Resilience team. Globally, it is part of the Nomura Group Business Resilience Team. There will be opportunities to interact and grow with other Business Resilience teams such Business Continuity Management and Operational Resilience.

 

This function is key to help set the AEJ Third Party Vendor Management Governance and Framework, in line with the Nomura global risk framework and risk appetite, and in accordance with Regulatory Standards.

 

As Third Party risk is an increasing focus by regional regulators to ensure continued business resiliency, this team plays a critical role to ensure governance and oversight mechanisms are in place to provide Nomura’s Senior Management governance visibility on third party vendors, especially how 3rd party risks are being managed.

 

Responsibilities

Lead the AEJ TPRM team looking after third-party risk management team, ensuring robust governance, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation across all vendor relationships. Drive strategic initiatives to enhance the third-party risk framework while managing a small team responsible for day-to-day vendor risk operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Leadership & Governance

 

  • Collaborate with the global team to implement and manage our enterprise-wide third-party risk management strategy, policies, and frameworks
  • Provide leadership on third party risk appetite, tolerance levels, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Chair third party risk committees and present risk assessments to senior management and board committees.

 

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including outsourcing regulations, business resiliency standards, and emerging regulatory guidance

 

Program Management & Oversight

 

  • Oversee the end-to-end third-party vendor lifecycle management process from onboarding through termination.
  • Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive due diligence frameworks for vendor assessment and ongoing monitoring
  • Establish and maintain vendor risk rating methodologies and concentration risk management protocols
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program effectiveness and operational efficiency
  • Familiarity with Service now TPRM module a plus.

 

Team Leadership & Development

 

  • Manage and develop a team of third-party risk professionals in Singapore and India.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on complex vendor assessments and risk decisions
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration between business unit SME’s involved in the TPRM processes such as: Legal, Compliance, BCM and technology teams
  • Establish performance metrics and accountability frameworks for team deliverables

 

Risk Assessment & Monitoring

 

  • Oversee the development and management TPRM workflows and risk dashboards for executive reporting within Service Now.
  • Lead analysis of portfolio-wide concentration risks, emerging threats, and systemic vulnerabilities
  • Ensure appropriate risk controls and monitoring mechanisms are in place for critical and high-risk vendors
  • Drive data-driven decision making through advanced analytics and risk modelling

 

Technology & Process Innovation

 

  • Champion digital transformation initiatives to automate and streamline third party risk processes
  • Oversee system enhancements and technology implementations to improve operational efficiency
  • Lead process reengineering efforts to reduce manual touchpoints and enhance scalability
  • Ensure integration of third-party risk systems with broader enterprise risk management platforms
  • Stakeholder Management

 

  • Serve as primary liaison with business leaders on third party risk matters and strategic vendor decisions
  • Collaborate with procurement, legal, and compliance teams to ensure aligned vendor management approaches
  • Engage with external auditors, regulators, and industry bodies on third party risk practices
  • Manage relationships with key technology vendors and service providers supporting the risk program

 

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Banking
  • 5+ years of experience with third party risk management or operational risk
  • Proven experience of regulatory requirements related to outsourcing and vendor management
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Experience with risk management systems, data analytics, and process automation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive-level audiences
