Job Description

 

The role operates within the Office of the Head of Global Markets (GM) Division to support key initiatives and ensure the smooth running of Nomura’s Global Markets Division across businesses and regions in a fast paced market environment.

 

The Associate will be an integral support member of the Executive Office. They will support the management team and work closely with the Strategy team, COOs, Corporate functions and key members of the leadership support team on a day to day basis.

 

The role holder will be expected to directly support the Head of GM, Head of GM Strategy and COO of GM across a number of key areas. 

 

Role and Responsibilities:

 

  • Support on the day to day management of the Global Markets office
  • Ensure effective execution of key meetings, executive committees, management offsites and other events to facilitate senior level decision making in the Global Markets division
  • Facilitate timely and smooth communications at a leadership level
  • Identify, analyze and monitor issues that affect the effectiveness of the GM management function
  • Tracking progress of projects and follow-up items, and coordinating with various teams globally
  • Preparing communication material, briefing notes and talking points for internal meetings and external engagements; draft materials in an appropriate manner to represent the Global Head of GM effectively.
  • Work closely with businesses, Investor Relations and Corporate Communications to raise the profile of Global Markets Division internally and externally
  • Support management presentations including business plans, reviews, offsite presentations, town halls
  • Work closely with the Strategy teams and COOs on broader firm-wide initiatives

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Communications, Corporate Strategy or a Public Policy role
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in either financial services, media or a consulting firm
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in writing reports, notes, communication material or documentation
  • Organized individual who is able to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-moving executive environment
  • Ability to interact confidently with senior business leadership on a range of topics
  • Strong Word, PowerPoint and Excel proficiency
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion while handling sensitive information and executive communications
  • Interest in the wider Capital Markets industry including key trends and market dynamics including Market Structure, Fintech, Regulations
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and initiatives
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
