Role Description
Credit Risk Infrastructure (CRI) is responsible for the overall governance and support of Credit Risk Management. CRI has a responsibility to monitor and report on counterparty exposures impacting Capital and Limits, settlement risk, governance around credit limit requests and specific pre-trade requests; and risk reporting for various Senior Risk Management, KSMMs, Business and Regulatory reporting.
Reporting to the Regional Head of Credit Risk Management and Regional Head of Credit Risk Infrastructure, the Credit Risk Infrastructure Officer will drive data management strategy for CRI and help develop data architecture. Provide ad-hoc risk views and drill down analysis of less transparent risks and issues of importance to senior management.
Key responsibilities include:
Credit Risk Monitoring and Analysis
- Monitor exposures (daily/weekly) across trading books, tracking counterparty, issuer, and sector risks to ensure compliance with risk limits.
- Analyze risk metrics (Peak Exposure, Current Exposure, Stress Current Exposure, Wrong Way Risk) and flag anomalies.
- Manage limits/excesses by product, counterparty, and country, escalating breaches per protocols.
Reporting and Presentations
- Prepare senior management decks on credit risk metrics and ad-hoc analysis
- Create regulatory reports for PRA, HK SFC etc.
- Prepare reports for regulatory processes and multi-divisional forums
Process Optimization
- Identify inefficiencies (e.g., manual reconciliations) and propose automation/tools.
- Collaborate with IT to streamline workflows and develop new risk/compliance tools.
Regulatory Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with global/regional regulations (MAS, HK SFC, JFSA, Dodd-Frank) for disclosures and capital requirements.
- Conduct controls: Track issues, monitor remediation, and perform governance reviews of analyst processes.
- Document policies & procedures: Maintain procedures, escalation paths, and training materials.
Audit & Reconciliation
- Resolve audit findings and perform reconciliations to validate data accuracy.
Requirements
- Minimum Degree from a University.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a credit risk infrastructure function within a financial institution with a focus on credit risk monitoring, analysis and reporting.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience preparing regulatory reports e.g. PRA/HK SFC, MAS along with senior management decks on credit metrics and ad-hoc analysis.
- Experience with credit risk fundamentals, exposure metrics (e.g. peak exposure, current exposure, stress current exposure, wrong way risk)
- Experience with financial products e.g. derivatives, FX, OTC, credit derivatives, equities, structured products, lending and credit
- Strong analytical skills, with expertise in exotic products pricing and their associated risks.
- Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal), capable of articulating complex risk concepts to diverse audiences across Risk and business functions.
- Intellectual curiosity and a deep passion for financial markets.
- Programming skills (e.g., Python, VBA, SQL, Power BI, Tableau)
