Role Overview
Reporting to the Head of Business Policy, Procedure and Risk Management, the Front Office Business Manager is responsible for all front office business processes, policies and regulatory compliance of the International Wealth Management (IWM) division in Singapore, and coordination of business requirements with Corporate Functions such as Risk Management, Operations, IT, Legal and Compliance, and Operational Risk Management.
Responsibilities
- Own Front Office policy and procedures, including processes and system implementation of requirements arising from regulatory updates and/or internal business/system enhancements
- Design and implement policy & process updates and system enhancements to ensure adherence with regulations & policies, mitigation of risks while taking practical feasibility into consideration
- Interpret and perform comprehensive business impact assessments arising from updates to regulations and bank policies in collaboration with compliance and other corporate functions
- Work closely with Relationship Managers, Client Services Officers and other internal and corporate stakeholders to identify and manage key risks arising from front office incidents and escalations.
- Review and interpret client documentation, correspondence and internal documents in Mandarin to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal requirements.
- Manage the preparation of management information reports tracking RM and client performance metrics (e.g. revenue, net new money, assets under management, expenses)
- Review client profit and loss and provide in-depth loss analysis
- Prepare information required for regulatory questionnaires and surveys
- Participate in initiatives/projects as subject matter expert, including requirement gathering, user acceptance testing, process design, policy updates and go-live implementation
- Manage internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and other reviews conducted by corporate functions
- Lead annual business continuity plan reviews, updates and coordinate WAR site testing
- Oversee and guide activities covered by the outsourced business management team
Requirements
- Minimum Degree in finance or business
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Business Manager in Private Banking or Wealth Management with a strong understanding of Wealth Management products and Singapore regulatory frameworks
- Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin skills is essential to review and interpret client documentation, correspondence and internal documents in Mandarin to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal requirements.
- Minimum of 2 experience with Avaloq core banking system
- Proven experience in business process management, policy implementation, and regulatory compliance
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills required for internal communications, regulatory reporting, policy documentation, and stakeholder management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power BI
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills and multicultural awareness
