Department Overview:
The Product Control team is part of the wider Global Middle Office (GMO) team that plays an important role within Finance. The GMO teams include the Product Control, Valuations, Collateral Management and Risk & Operations Middle Office functions. The Product Control (PC) team is an independent control function that ensures the integrity of Nomura's financial statements. This is through the preparation and independent verification of daily and monthly P&Ls. In addition, PC review trade booking and valuation flows, perform balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation. PC ensures the integrity, completeness and accuracy of all trading Profit and Loss (P&L) positions and related corporate data. The team works closely with various Corporate Functions and the business to enable a robust control framework together with a strong understanding of the business and associated risks.
Role Overview:
The role involves leading the Korea onshore PC team while providing oversight to the onshore Desk PL and position reporting team. The position encompasses coordination of Korea regulatory projects and includes responsibility for supporting regional and global projects as well as new business initiatives. Additionally, the role carries an advisory function, offering strategic guidance and expertise across various aspects of the operation.
Role Description:
- Trade and Position control for Korea desk
- Korea desk support, leading onshore PC line and working closely with regional PC
- Regional/Global projects and new business support
- PC support for Korea Regulatory projects
- NFIK management support via performance analysis
- PC support for resource optimization
- Advice to Business on day to day and strategic initiatives
- Any other finance tasks which NFIK head of Finance may delegate from time to time
Skills, experience, qualifications, and knowledge required:
- Over 10 years of experience in Finance such as Finance Control, Regulatory Reporting, Product Control and Treasury – required
- PC experience in OTC derivatives business supports - preferred
- College graduate – major in Finance preferred
- Understanding on OTC derivative products – required
- Korean native/fluent - required
- Business English communication skills – required
- Technical competency
US/Korean CPA- preferred
