Role Overview:
Analyze, Monitor and Report credit risks to which the firm is exposed on the way of doing business in order to manage credit risks on a timely basis and secure the firm’s financial soundness and creditworthiness.
Role Description:
- Analyze the creditworthiness of corporations and financial institutions in the Asia-Pacific regions as well as Korean counterparties to establish internal credit limits.
- Conduct initial/scheduled credit review on counterparties in the credit portfolio
- Undertake due diligence visits to clients, lead credit conversations and collect credit information
- Independently take credit decisions on loan transactions, bond issuances and derivative trades etc.
- Analyze structured derivative trades, with the help of credit quant professionals, understand credit exposure profile of, and prescribe the right credit terms for, those trades.
- Liaise with ‘Transaction Legal’ related to documentation issues and prescribe credit terms and financial covenants for legal documents such as ISDA/CSA, GMRA/GMSLA, Facility Agreements etc.
- Continuous monitor covered portfolio, including following industry trends, business impact, and escalation of potential credit issues to stakeholders.
- Support local management/related committees (i.e., Risk Management Committee) from risk management perspective.
- Report breaches of risk management policies and guidelines, if any, and recommended disciplinary actions
Skills, experience, qualifications, and knowledge required:
- Minimum 5 years in a Rating Agency or a Commercial Bank or an Investment Bank as a credit analyst analyzing Korean borrowers and counterparties.
- Energetic and independent
- Fluent in spoken and written English and Korean
- Have good report writing skills and able to highly articulate in verbal presentations
- Good inter-personal skills and be at ease in interacting with the sales personnel
- Thorough and an eye for details
- Credit analysis experience covering corporates would be a plus.
