Advisory Consultant

As an Advisory Consultant (AC), you will work with your Senior Advisory Consultant (SAC) counterpart to representour strategic suite of public and private investments including Private Alternatives, Mutual Funds, Separately Managed Accounts and Exchange Traded Funds with a focus on Registered Investment Advisors and Bank Trust firms in the designated region. In this pivotal role, you will help build asset growth and firm profitability by enhancing strategic relationships through a consultative sales model. 

You will also analyze industry data to build a business plan in partnership with your Senior Advisory Consultant (SAC) so that you can achieve sales goals for the territories you cover.  You'll use your strong communication, market-knowledge, and data skills to build relationships with clients, wholesalers and others within Nomura and work as a member of a talented distribution team to see that all client service issues are brought to a resolution.

As our Advisory Consultant, your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Implementing tactical strategies through the use of data in partnership with your SACs to increase sales, prepare weekly action plans, retain assets, and cultivate new clients
  • Developing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of financial markets, products and services and the competitive landscape; discussing the array of products across all disciplines (fund objectives, portfolio structures, investment management process and strategy benchmarks)
  • Working as part of a team (SAC and AC), developing strong sales acumen to meet and surpass sales and activity goals for the region
  • Analyzing data from multiple sources to segment clients and formulate a successful sales outreach strategy
  • Utilizing firm resources including but not limited to SS&C, Salesforce, Allego, Seismic, Zoom and other technologies
  • Obtaining virtual meeting appointments with firms to conduct a sales, or portfolio manager presentation
  • Consulting with advisors to understand needs and cross selling products
  • Building an understanding of key focus firms including products, platforms, structure and initiatives
  • Maintaining and updating the Client Relationship Management system (Salesforce) for all advisor client activities in designated territories
  • Fielding inbound calls from partners and advisor clients regarding product questions
  • 5-10% travel with SAC or to cover for your SAC to help present our products and services; represent Nomura at various regional meetings and industry conferences
  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external rules, policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements

Preferred Background:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Knowledge of financial marketplace, experience with the sales of financial products and two years of prior financial services experience preferred
  • Series 7 and 66 (or 7, 63 and 65) licenses
  • Knowledge of virtual meeting platforms
  • Experience with analyzing data to create a business plan
  • Strong presentation, communication and organization skills
  • Ability to travel
