The Cloud Business Office is a global Cloud governance organization responsible for managing critical cloud governance processes across Group IT. Our scope encompasses Cloud NTI Management, Third Party Cloud Risk Management, Cloud Registry Management, Cloud Controls Framework, Nomura Group Public Cloud Policy compliance, Nomura Public Cloud Risk Management and Information (MI) Reporting to relevant governance forums. This role provides dedicated Cloud Business Office support and governance for the US region.

Role description

We are seeking an CBO Associate to serve as the regional champion for cloud governance processes and controls within the US region. This role combines hands-on process management with strategic governance oversight, ensuring alignment with global Cloud Controls Framework while addressing regional operational needs.

  • Champion Nomura Public Cloud Policy and standards across the US region
  • Support the objectives for the Cloud Governance Process along with Nomura’s Global Cloud Governance Committee
  • Ensure regional adherence to established Cloud Controls frameworks and controls
  • Monitor compliance and identify areas for process improvement
  • Support regional teams with cloud governance inquiries and requirements
  • Collaborate with global team members, process owners, and tools teams to enhance cloud governance processes
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and automation opportunities
  • Create, update, and maintain comprehensive cloud governance documentation
  • Generate Management Information System (MIS) reports and ServiceNow dashboards
  • Maintain data integrity within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) – Cloud Registry, New Technology Initiatives and operational cloud risk assessment
  • Ensure overall ServiceNow data quality and accuracy
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for ServiceNow releases and updates

 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required

 

Required Qualifications

  • 6-10 Years of Experience working in Cloud Governance or Cloud Business Office
  • Strong understanding of Cloud Controls to scale cloud adoption in secure and efficient way establishing effective process governance and monitoring
  • Strong experience to evidence effective implementation of Cloud Controls Framework, platforms and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience to work with Cloud Security, FinOps, Data and Engineering Teams to ensure effective Controls Implementation
  • Good knowledge of Metrics/KPI’s and thresholds for Cloud Governance Processes
  • Proficiency with ServiceNow platform for cloud governance
  • Experience with PowerBI, BusinessObjects or similar reporting tools
  • Understanding of operational risk management frameworks
  • Proven experience in process enhancement and control management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and stakeholder management abilities
  • Understanding of cloud services and AI tools integration

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL certification (Foundation level or higher)
  • Python programming experience
  • Experience developing AI applications or tools for cloud governance process improvement
  • Advanced data analysis and visualization skills
  • Previous experience in financial services or regulated industries
