Role overview

We are seeking a Senior Financial Controller to join our finance team and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of Financial Control tasks and other Finance tasks across three FR entities: one fully licensed bank (Banque Nomura France), a branch of a German broker dealer (NFPE French Branch) and an Asset Management company (NAIM).

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Work closely with Head of Financial Control to ensure the timeliness and the quality of the Financial Control tasks, including but not restricted to:
    • Liaise with the external AP processing provider and execute controls to ensure the vendor accounting is accurate and up to date ;
    • Liaise with London T&E team and execute controls to ensure the expenses process is smooth and without any undue delay ;
    • Liaise with remote Financial Controllers and execute controls on the bank reconciliation and the relevant documentation ;
    • Participate in the monthly closing process and assist the Head of Financial Control on the Account Verification process ;
    • Prepare the internal financials statement / monthly management report and reply to received queries ;
    • Prepare the Finance related materials for diverse committee and board meetings ;
  • Liaise with external tax advisor and local tax authorities whenever relevant to ensure compliance with tax regulations and requirements ;
  • Liaise with Group Transfer Pricing team to ensure TP booking accuracy, TP documentation and reconciliation compliance ;
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and provide support to Regulatory Controllers to ensure prudential reporting accuracy and compliance ;
  • Support Head of Financial Control and CFO by providing ad hoc analysis or statistics as needed ;

 

background/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred ;
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial control of accounting roles within the banking or financial services industry ;
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations ;
  • Experience working with outsourced providers and managing remote teams is a plus ;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders ;
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain quality in a fast-paced and dynamic environment ;
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite, particularly in Excel ;
