Role Description

 

Nomura is seeking a Vice President / Executive Director that will be an integral member of the Structured

Solutions Group. The team is seeking an experienced originator of private credit and leverage finance solutions with corporates, both sponsored and non-sponsored. The hire will be an integral part of the firm’s initiative of expanding its origination channel for private credit financing opportunities.

The candidate must have a successful track record of originating and closing private financings with middle market companies. The candidate must be able to leverage their senior-level relationships with CEO, CFOs, Treasurers and Heads of Capital Markets of corporates across different industry sectors.

 

The candidate will play a key role with pitching Nomura’s private market capabilities to clients, generating trade opportunities, and partnering with Deal teams to execute on the structuring and underwriting of financing solutions. In addition to originations, the candidate will play a key role on identifying and cultivating relationships with co-investors for deals

 

Nomura’s Structured Solutions Group serves as the firm’s coverage effort for its Private Lending businesses in Global Markets. The Structured Solutions team seeks to originate and raise institutional capital for its varied private credit strategies, including direct lending, structured corporate credit, specialty finance, fund finance, infrastructure and power, trade finance, and commercial real estate.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Successfully execute new originations with internal Deal teams, which include: Corporate & Asset Finance, PE NAV Fund Finance, Trade Finance, Infrastructure & Power and Securitized Products
  • Ability to take point in managing a full trade lifecycle, from origination through deal closing
  • Identify new origination channels for the firm through intermediaries
  • A plus if the candidate has relationships with institutional investors to help further expand our universe of syndication partners
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Nomura’s capabilities and transaction activity to ensure an adequate knowledge and familiarity to effectively pitch to clients
  • Define market themes, understand the competitive landscape and the respective opportunity sets, and ultimately develop trade ideas that lead to tangible transactions
  • Assist in evaluating and tracking market developments – deals in market, participating investors, market dynamics, current events
  • Attend relevant industry events and conferences to develop new relationships and source new financing opportunities

 

 

Desired Candidate Profile

 

  • 5- 15+ years of relevant experience in private credit, structured finance, leverage loans, asset based lending, and/or capital markets.
  • Strong senior-level relationships with middle market companies across industry sectors
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to set own priorities and multi-task in a dynamic environment with activities which may change at short notice
  • Commercial instinct and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Professionalism is front and center; articulate and present complex topics  in a clear and concise manner during client interaction
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation and the ability to work independently and with others across a variety of responsibilities in an entrepreneurial environment
