Role Description

This position is responsible for ensuring a robust risk management environment is maintained across Wholesale Operations. The role works closely with first line Operational Management in helping to ensure the execution of the control environment.

The successful candidate will have an aptitude for learning and understanding the front to back operating model as the role will interact with multiple stakeholders, such as Finance, Middle Office, IT and firmwide Operational Risk Management.

The role entails a variety and complexity of processes to help stimulate candidates who like to continually grow. To ensure success, the candidate should have good time management and prioritization skills to successfully manage multiple initiatives at once.

Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge Required

Assist in continuously improving the control culture within the Operations organization and influence team through risk awareness and process analysis.

Analyze weekly KRI‘s to monitor for any variances which could identify potential or emerging risks to highlight to senior management.

Help facilitate the execution and continuous assessment of the control environment, through the ‘RCSA’ (Risk and Control Self-Assessment) process. This includes evaluating and challenging inherent risks with managers, assessing control suitably and the residual operating risks.

Partner with the various Wholesale Operations teams in an advisory capacity on day-to-day processes and potential risks items.

Provide transparency & governance to various US and non-US legal entities through management reporting (including KRI monitoring and associated risk items).

Help facilitate new product due diligence process to ensure operational readiness for the build-out of a new business.

When Operational Risk Events occur, review associated processes and controls, to understand the point of breakdown and whether the root cause is related to control effectiveness design issue or an operating effectiveness issue.

Manage our internal and external Audit relationships by helping coordinate and review potential control items for remediation.

Co-ordinate with various departments in ensuring operational risks is minimized in the event of credit alerts.
