Department Overview
As part of its efforts to expand its investment management business in the Americas and enhance its overall offering, Nomura Holding America Inc. has established a new business line – Nomura Capital Management (NCM). NCM will focus on providing RIAs and their clients with access to private markets. The first strategy brought to market provides diversified exposure to private credit sectors through a closed-end interval fund structure. The second fund launched is a private credit drawdown strategy. Additional products/strategies will be developed in other private markets such as real estate, infrastructure, private equity or venture capital (e.g., potentially including non-traded REIT/BDCs, open/closed-end private funds or similar structures).
Role Description
As a Vice President, Private Credit Investment Operations Specialist within Nomura Capital Management, you will be responsible for overseeing operational functions supporting private credit interval and private funds, with a focus on accounting, valuation, reporting, and operational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
Fund Operations & Accounting:

Oversee daily operational activities for private credit funds, including interval funds and closed-end vehicles

Manage fund accounting processes, NAV calculations, and financial reporting

Review and approve complex securities pricing and valuations

Coordinate with third-party administrators and custodians
-
Supervise month-end and quarter-end close processes
Investment Operations:

Oversee trade settlement, cash management, and reconciliation processes

Monitor and maintain compliance with investment guidelines

Manage loan operations including documentation, funding, and ongoing maintenance

Coordinate with deal teams on new investments and portfolio monitoring
Team Leadership & Process Improvement:

Lead and develop a team of operations professionals

Implement and optimize operational workflows and procedures

Drive automation initiatives and technology enhancements

Collaborate with IT on systems implementation and upgrades
Risk & Control Management:
-
Ensure robust internal controls and documentation
-
Manage operational risk assessment and mitigation

Support internal and external audit processes

Monitor regulatory compliance requirements
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
-
10+ years of relevant experience in financial operations
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Strong understanding of private credit markets and products specifically loan types and life cycle events both standalone and as a part of an SPV

Advanced knowledge of fund accounting, valuation, and operations specifically in ’40 act and 3c7 private funds

Experience with interval funds and private investment vehicles

Proficiency in credit portfolio management and accounting systems

Advanced Excel and automation capabilities

Knowledge of loan servicing platforms & familiarity with fund administration systems

Strong leadership and team management abilities

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Motivated to independently find solutions and to then propose for collaboration and implementation

Superior communication and interpersonal abilities

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

CPA or equivalent professional qualification preferred
