Nomura Fiduciary Research & Consulting America, Inc. (“NFRCA”) is a Delaware corporation and has its principal place of business in New York, New York.  NFRCA is 100% owned by Nomura Fiduciary Research & Consulting Co., Ltd. (“NFRC”) which has its head office in Tokyo and a branch office in London (“NFRCL”).

NFRCA provides NFRC with administrative and fund analysis services on pooled investment vehicles. Additionally, NFRCA conducts investment and operational due diligence on investment advisers and/or managers designated by NFRC.

 

Role Description / Areas of responsibility include:

  • Research coverage of private funds especially in North America.
  • Evaluate and produce explicit qualitative ratings for individual funds by conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis in accordance with NFRC's proprietary qualitative evaluation process.
  • Maintain close relationships with investment management companies and fund managers to engage in high-level discussions about the organization, investment process and performance.
  • Utilize advanced and highly specialized knowledge and skills relating to financial products and instruments, and apply them to the analysis of private equity companies.
  • Engage in the research and development of highly specialized and innovative financial products and business lines, as well as implementing comprehensive strategic plans to improve the efficiency of NFRCA’s business operations.
  • Utilize specialized knowledge of NFRC's private equity fund analysis and evaluation method, the candidate will deliver analysis and opinion of funds through preparation of periodic reports and written materials and presenting to related parties within the Nomura Group and relevant retail or institutional investors.

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required

  • A graduate’s or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Must be fluent in Japanese and above business level in English.
  • Motivated, diligent learner that is able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Proficient in excel and ability to quickly learn internal & industry applications
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Interest in general financial markets

 

*base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, corporate and functional title and duties, job-related knowledge and advanced degrees, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
