Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join our global tools team in London, working closely with our business stakeholders within Equities and Prime Finance. This role requires a blend of technical expertise across multiple technologies and the ability to work effectively in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain complex applications using Python, React, and Java – with particular focus on designing clean, reusable components and structured RESTful endpoints

Create and optimize database solutions and data models

Dedication to enhanced performance monitoring and optimization techniques

Integration of a robust suite of unit, integration and end-to-end tests to ensure system reliability

Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins/GitLab

Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions

Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical architecture decisions

Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards
Required Skills & Experience

Strong proficiency in Python development and design patterns

Advanced React.js experience, including state management and modern React patterns

Solid understanding of database design and optimization

Working knowledge of Java development

Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitLab)

Version control with Git

Minimum 8+ years of software development experience

Proven track record of delivering complex technical solutions

Experience working in an agile development environment

Background in financial services/investment banking preferred

Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience in mentoring junior developers
