Department overview:

The Flow Rates business in New York, London, Tokyo and Sydney are dependent on Onyx Risk for their intraday risk, P&L and flash. There is an ongoing program of work to update the system with new trader requirements and changes to how the market trades, as well as a long term strategic re-architecture program to support additional businesses and increased volumes.

 

Role description:

The individual will join the US team to develop and maintain the various server-side processes and APIs that form a critical part of the system providing intraday risk and P&L to the Rates business.

 

They will work closely with stakeholders and the global development team to translate business requirements into actionable and scalable solutions, as well as communicate requirements to team members when changes are needed to other components.

 

The individual will be an experienced Java developer with an understanding of the stages of the software development life cycle, version control, unit testing, and build tools. Python experience would be beneficial. 

 

Experience working with front office users would be an advantage.


Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related technical/quantitative field

  • 4+ years of experience in working with Java

  • Good knowledge of object oriented programming principles

  • Basic knowledge of Java frameworks (Spring)

  • Knowledge of testing in Java (Junit)

  • Familiarity with development lifecycle tools (Maven, Jenkins, Git)

  • Ability to work with both Linux and Windows servers

  • Work effectively in a global team, supporting and advising as required

  • Demonstrate strong personal initiative

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal

  • Experience with Python, C#/.Net, Docker, Kubernetes and/or AWS a plus
