Department Overview:

Prime Finance Middle Office Department

 

 

Role Description:

  • Monitor and analyze margin requirements across diverse client portfolios including hedge funds, asset managers, and institutional investors
  • Evaluate counterparty risk exposure and implement appropriate margin calls
  • Review and approve margin requirement exceptions based on client relationships and risk parameters
  • Develop and maintain margin monitoring systems and processes
  • Collaborate with Sales, Risk, Operations, and Technology teams to enhance margin methodologies
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and house margin policies
  • Monitor margin requirements and processing for arranged financing platform and cross margin/ cross netting processes.
  • Manage cross-product margining for equities, fixed income, and derivatives
  • Analyze complex trading strategies and their impact on margin requirements
  • Provide guidance on portfolio composition to optimize margin efficiency

 

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with FINRA Rule 4210 including Portfolio Margin, FRB Regulation T, FRB Regulation U Monitor maintenance margin and initial margin requirements
  • Strong understanding of controls related to customer protection under SEC Rule 15c3-3
  • Manage extension requests and regulatory reporting

 

 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field
  • 5-10 years prime brokerage or margin related experience, experience with major prime brokerage platforms
  • Comprehensive understanding of US margin regulations
  • Experience with arranged financing platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of cross-margin and netting methodologies (preferred)
  • ISDA documentation knowledge (preferred)
