The Securitized Products – Infrastructure & Power department is a specialized division within the investment bank focused on structuring, originating, and distributing securitized products tied to infrastructure and power assets. This team operates at the intersection of project finance, capital markets, and structured finance, providing innovative financing solutions to clients involved in large-scale infrastructure projects, renewable energy initiatives, and traditional power sectors.

 

The department leverages securitization techniques to transform infrastructure and power assets into investable securities, unlocking capital for project developers, governments, and corporations while delivering attractive, risk-adjusted returns for investors.

 

 

Role Description

 

The Analyst, Infrastructure & Power Origination and Structuring within the Securitized Products team will play a pivotal role in sourcing, structuring, and executing securitization transactions focused on infrastructure and power-related assets. The VP will leverage their expertise in financial markets, securitization, and infrastructure finance to drive the bank's deal origination efforts. The role will require close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including origination, capital markets, credit, legal, and risk to ensure successful execution of transactions.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of mortgage finance, securitization frameworks, and a track record of working on complex structured products in the mortgage and asset-backed space.

 

 

Job Duties

 

  • Identify and source infrastructure and power-related securitization opportunities, including public-private partnerships, renewable energy projects, transportation, utilities, and energy storage
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including project developers, sponsors, institutional investors, and corporate entities
  • Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in the infrastructure and power sectors that align with the bank's securitization strategy
  • Lead the structuring and execution of securitization deals involving infrastructure and power assets, ensuring alignment with client goals and regulatory requirements
  • Design and model complex financial structures, including cash flow waterfalls, to optimize risk-return profiles for both issuers and investors
  • Collaborate with legal, risk, and compliance teams to ensure all transactions meet regulatory and contractual standards
  • Develop innovative financing solutions, including green bonds and sustainability-linked securitizations, to meet the evolving demands of the infrastructure and power markets
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by providing insights on securitization trends and transaction opportunities in the infrastructure and power sectors
  • Lead client presentations and pitch efforts, demonstrating deep industry knowledge and creative financial solutions
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with stakeholders to ensure favorable outcomes for both the bank and clients
  • Work closely with the capital markets team to assess investor appetite and market dynamics for securitized products
  • Partner with the credit risk team to evaluate creditworthiness and determine appropriate structuring elements for deals
  • Liaise with the bank's sustainability team to incorporate ESG considerations into infrastructure and power securitization strategies
  • Stay abreast of developments in the infrastructure and power sectors, including regulatory changes, market trends, and emerging technologies
  • Provide strategic insights to senior leadership on market opportunities, competitive positioning, and potential growth areas
  • Contribute to the development of the bank’s long-term strategy for securitized products within the infrastructure and power space

 

 

 Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge Required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in securitized products, infrastructure finance, or project finance within investment banking or a related financial institution
  • Strong expertise in originating and structuring complex transactions in the infrastructure and power sectors
  • In-depth understanding of securitization markets, including deal structures, credit analysis, and regulatory frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage client relationships with institutional investors, sponsors, and project developers
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, with a track record of developing innovative financing solutions
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and effectively to clients and senior management
  • Knowledge of ESG and sustainability-linked financing in the context of infrastructure and power is a plus
  • Ability to identify market opportunities and develop strategies to capitalize on them
  • Capable of managing and mentoring junior team members and leading cross-functional deal teams
