  • Coverage: Financial Sponsors coverage and Industry coverage in areas including Consumer / Retail, Financial Institutions, Healthcare, Technology and Media Services, and Greentech Industrials and Infrastructure
  • Client Financing & Solutions: Product specialists in traditional capital markets and financing functions, including Acquisition & Leveraged Finance, Equity Capital Markets, Risk Solutions, and Debt Capital Markets

Investment Banking Associate Role Overview

Our New York Financial Sponsors Group works with mid to large cap private equity clients providing our banking services across financing, equity capital markets and M&A while leveraging our banks resources and other coverage groups to deliver bespoke solutions to our clients.

 

As a member of the Financial Sponsors Group, you will be part of lean deal teams with direct access to Managing Directors, Executive Directors, and colleagues from other Industry and Product teams on servicing and executing client transactions. Good exposure to working on live transactions and leading internal deal teams.

 

What Role Might You Play and Desired Skillset

  • Deal Execution: Work closely with clients and execution teams on live deals, including mergers & acquisitions, acquisition and leveraged finance transactions, equity capital raises, debt advisory, and other financing solutions
    • The candidate should be self-driven and have an entrepreneurial mindset to lead diligence on transactions and prepare pitch materials
    • LBO modeling experience and strong financial analysis ability
    • Strong organizational and time management skills

 

  • Client Relationship Management and New Business Development: Generate and present ideas at client meetings as a member of a deal team alongside senior bankers. Look to build and develop relationships with clients at private equity firms
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

 

  • Team Management and Development: Manage analysts and liaise with other Industry and Product groups to execute deliverables for clients. Support the training and mentoring of junior professionals
    • Ability to lead and manage deal teams and serve as a role model for analysts

 

Requirements

  • Outstanding academic qualifications
  • Prior investment banking experience. Experience with financial sponsors or leveraged finance is desired, but not required
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Series 73 and 69 required

*base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, corporate and functional title and duties, job-related knowledge and advanced degrees, skills, and experience.
