Department overview:

The Payroll Associate is part of the HR Payroll department and will handle high volume transactions related to the entire payroll process.

 

 

Role Description:
Candidates must be proficient with all aspects of payroll practices including data processing, gross-to-net calculations, payroll tax compliance and technology. This position will be responsible for processing bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for over 3,000 employees in a multi-state, multi-entity environment and reports to the Americas Head of Payroll.

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing, including expatriate payrolls for multiple companies and pay groups
  • Process high-volume payrolls and manage mass import files for deferred compensation and special payments
  • Prepare payroll funding calculations for net pay, tax liabilities, and 401(k) administration
  • Balance and reconcile payroll data for audit readiness
  • Generate monthly Bureau of Labor Statistics reports
  • Support quarterly and annual year-end processing and information returns
  • Create ad hoc reports for internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate audit responses and provide requested data for internal/external audits
  • Interface with Ultimate Software (UltiPro) for payroll system operations
  • Maintain payroll system data integrity and collaborate with HR on reconciliation
  • Respond to employment and mortgage verification requests
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners

 

Experience /Qualifications/Education:

  • Minimum 5 years of bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing in multi-state, multi-entity environment
  • At least 2 years of hands-on UltiPro experience (UTM familiarity preferred
  • Proven ability to thrive in high-volume, fast-paced settings
  • Expert knowledge of Ultimate Software payroll platform (UltiPro)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Comprehensive understanding of payroll year-end processes (quarterly amendments, taxable fringe benefits, W-2 reporting)
  • Strong grasp of payroll tax compliance and multi-state regulations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding customer service orientation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Superior organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ad hoc reporting capabilities
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification a plus
