Job Summary:

 

The HR Business Partner serves as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to senior business leaders driving human capital strategies that enable business growth and operational excellence. This role works across the Global Markets platform to align talent and organizational strategies with business goals, fostering a high-performance culture. Interacts with and coaches senior managers within the Global Markets division, providing proactive guidance and direction on people issues and efficient HR service delivery in partnership with HR Specialist teams across a comprehensive range of HR disciplines and transformational projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain an effective and focused relationship with the client group, providing timely and accurate advice and support on all HR related matters
  • Be an active member of the wider Americas HR department and have the ability to coordinate with the global HR teams based in Tokyo, Singapore, Hong Kong and EMEA in order to provide support to Global business heads based in New York
  • Manage various activities including, but not limited to:
    • Recruitment – work closely with the recruiting team on managing the business hiring plan and provide guidance on contract negotiations and the closing of candidates. Facilitate internal moves with the Recruiting and Relocation teams.
    • Employee Relations & Legal - Provide managers with advice and guidance on a range of Employee Relations and Legal matters by working closely with ER and Legal partners - including performance, grievances, disciplinary, dismissal and redundancy matters.
    • Learning & Performance – Work closely with the Talent team to support the performance management cycle and promotion processes and contribute to the development and execution of Talent Management offerings. Manage leadership coaching to foster a strong culture of leadership capability and continuous development, accountability and collaboration.
    • Compensation & Benefits – Partner with compensation and benefits teams to ensure competitive reward structures are in place and a high-performance culture is fostered. Support the year-end compensation process ensuring meritocratic, consistent and fair decisions are made in line with regulatory guidelines and frameworks. Provide data-driven insights and workforce analytics to influence decision-making and proactively address organizational challenges.
  • Work with the wider HR team to support additional areas of focus (e.g. Graduate Recruitment, Talent Management, Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion, and Wellness)



 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • 5+ years of experience in a HRBP role ideally covering a front office function
  • Experienced HR professional who is able to operate confidently with senior level clients in a challenging, fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships as a trusted advisor to a demanding client group
  • Experience within the Financial Services sector, specifically with front office clients
  • Providing support and advice on all HR disciplines (Recruitment, Reward, Employee Relations, Learning and Performance, Immigration, Relocation, etc.)
  • Practical experience managing employee relations issues and complex compensation structures desirable
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), team player
  • Commercial awareness and ability to evaluate people risk
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and relationships
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required

 

 

*base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, corporate and functional title and duties, job-related knowledge and advanced degrees, skills, and experience.
