Job Summary:
Nomura's Fund Financing & Solutions desk — a leading franchise in the fund finance sector — is hiring a Trader in New York to take ownership of the ongoing management of a large and growing portfolio of loans. This is the operational engine seat on the desk: you will be accountable for timely borrowing base receipt and review, covenant monitoring, cash flow reconciliation of borrowing base reports, and periodic portfolio reviews, and you will be the person the desk and its stakeholders come to for answers on existing deals and how they are performing.
Responsiblities include:
- You will also coordinate the closing and syndication of new transactions — confirming documentation is complete and onboarding and KYC are done — and support the booking, monitoring, and maintenance of the desk's self-funding initiatives, new risk distributions, CDS transactions, and insurance policies, while actively managing the FFS pipeline.
- A meaningful part of the role is helping design and build the technology and infrastructure that make all of this scale, so an appetite for improving process rather than simply executing it is essential.
- We are looking for someone with roughly two to five years of experience, ideally from fund administration, accounting, fund finance operations, or a trading or middle-office background, who brings genuine precision with data and documentation, the organizational discipline to keep dozens of reporting obligations on schedule without being chased, and the confidence to interface directly with sponsors, lenders, and internal risk, legal, and finance teams.
- Comfort in Excel is a given; curiosity about how technology can replace manual work is what will set the right candidate apart.
