Department overview:
The Treasury Product Control function serves as a core finance control function, focusing on the management of the Funds Transfer Pricing process, as well as the analysis and monitoring of Unsecured Funding (UF) usage across the business. This role supports the Treasury Funding Desk, the Planning team, and the Business, by ensuring the accuracy of our UF reporting, providing related MI to senior management, and the reconciliation and analysis of Treasury PL.
Role description:
The Treasury PC analyst candidate must exhibit a strong understanding of the Product Control function, preferably with a solid Treasury background. General responsibilities include:
- UF analysis and reporting, Treasury PL analysis, Flash to Actual analysis, Front to Back reconciliations, PL commentary, Balance Sheet Attestation, and verification of manual adjustments
- Understanding and analysis of Treasury Funding and FX transactions
- Close interaction with global treasury teams, Trading Desks, Treasury, Middle Office/Ops, IT, Market Risk, Financial Reporting, Regulatory and IPV teams
Daily Responsibilities include:
- Daily UF monitoring and projections, Treasury PL review and analysis
- Liaising with the Front Office to produce accurate UF projections and provide MI
- Understanding daily summary of funding charges, including day-over-day variance analysis
- Interaction with Trading, Operations, and Other Product Control Groups to resolve booking, valuation, and financial resource usage related issues
- Understanding drivers of UF movements across various businesses
- Providing daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly P&L
- Ensuring proper controls are in place as measured by KRI metrics
Monthly Responsibilities include:
- Closing of the firm’s books and records, including required manual journal entries and Balance Sheet substantiation
- Reconciliation of monthly Treasury P&L to General ledger
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 1-2 years of general Product Control experience with a focus on Treasury Product Control
- BS in Finance, Economics or Accounting
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced, results oriented environment
- Experience with Operational functions / reports including settlements and Stock Record
- Experience working across global teams and functions
- Team player, proactive, self-starter, who can be dynamic and detailed oriented
- Organized, capable of prioritizing work in order to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to digest information quickly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Series 99/SIE license or ability to obtain within 3 months of starting role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skill with an ability to clearly articulate complex issues to management, corporate partners, Global Markets, and client base
