Department Overview:

  • Legal team of regulatory and transactional attorneys supporting all Global Markets businesses, including Equities, Rates, Credit, FX, Securitized Products and various Solutions businesses


Role description:

  • Work closely with the Business with respect to the structuring, sale, negotiation, documentation and execution of a wide range of equity products, with a primary focus on equity derivatives, cash and synthetic prime brokerage, equity-linked notes and equity and fund-linked loans
  • Advise and assist in the creation, structuring, regulatory analysis and launch of new products and businesses, including a structured note program
  • Interpret, educate and assist with the implementation of regulatory changes (e.g. SEC, FINRA) that impact equities businesses
  • Advise the Business, Risk, Compliance and others internally regarding legal and regulatory issues, developments and risks relating to equities businesses
  • Assist with ongoing advocacy efforts relating to regulatory changes impacting equities businesses


Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • Strong experience with equity products, ideally including OTC derivatives and/or structured products
  • Familiarity with ISDA and other industry documentation
  • Familiarity with corporate, securities, creditor, finance and bankruptcy laws and related issues
  • Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -- ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to work independently and respond proactively to business needs
  • Strong team player
