Department Overview:

Chief Data Office is the Group Central Data, Cloud, and AI Governance arm that works closely with the Group Businesses and Group Corporate functions to enable the execution of Nomura Group Strategy through Robust Data Standards & Governance, produce Actionable Performance Metrics & MIS, whilst ensuring Group-wide Risk & Control effectiveness aligned to its Governance objectives

 

Role description:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Troubleshoot and debug applications
  • Contribute to technical documentation and design discussions
  • Familiarity with AI tools/ services related to guardrails, metrics, model implementations
  • Support continuous integration and deployment processes.

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • 3-8 years of professional software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming
  • Experience with database design and management
  • Proven track record working with AWS cloud services
  • Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Understanding of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Understanding of AI governance process and methodologies

 

Technical Requirements:

  • Python development experience including frameworks like FastAPI
  • Strong background in Linux usage
  • Database experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB)
  • AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateaway, Bedrock)
  • Version control systems (Git)
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/ Helm)
  • RESTful API design and implementation
  • Understanding of microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with  automation tools such as but not limited to Jenkins, GitLab CI pipelines, Nexus, Zephyr, Terraform
  • Experience with observability/metrics tools such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools
  • Experience with test-driven development

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
