Department Overview:
Credit Risk Management is looking to hire a Vice President focusing on Hedge Funds/Private Equity transactions.
Credit Risk Management (CRM) is a key function in protecting and making sure we take prudent risk for Nomura.
The group evaluates transactions and approves, rejects, or modifies them considering the credit quality. The department also assigns internal credit ratings; establishes and manages credit risk limits in accordance with the risk tolerance
Role description:
- Perform client due diligence and financial analysis and summarize in written credit approval memos and reviews
- Review and approve trading activity, margin requirements and structural enhancements to transactions Establish credit exposure appetite across traded products utilizing firm risk models
- Negotiate legal documentation for traded products
- Assess creditworthiness of clients an assign appropriate internal credit ratings
- Maintain updated credit research on a portfolio of clients
- Participate in firm wide projects
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior members of the team
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
- At least 10+ years of relevant experience, with understanding of market fundamentals within funds space across trading strategies.
- Experience in both developed market and emerging market transactions / structures preferred
- Knowledge of a range of traded products
- Credit/Market risk experience required
- Candidates should have accounting and corporate finance course work
- Advising and/or assisting teams in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with the ability to prioritize and complete tasks according to project needs
- Advising or assisting multi-disciplinary teams across complex engagements with multiple workstreams and stakeholders
- Leveraging effective business writing and verbal skills, including leveraging negotiation and consensus-building to achieve results
- Demonstrating business and project management acumen, executive presence and professionalism
- Proficient in Excel, Powerpoint and Word
