Department Overview
- The Credit Bond Middle Office team supports the AEJ Credit Desk, the DCM Desk, the Structured Credit Desk and Legacy Credit Desk positions.
- CBMO is responsible for working with Trading and Sales to ensure market risk and trade entry is accurate. Review trades to ensure regulatory reporting is timely and matches vs our counterparts. Coordinate with global colleagues to ensure all aspects of trade processing is completed.
- The Fund Finance Middle Office team supports the Private Equity Desk. Tracking monthly/quarterly documents. Reconciling Borrowing Bases received and uploading collateral into Promerit. Notifying the Deal management team of any breaches, draws or payoffs .
Role Description
- Responsible for reviewing trades in ACE. Ensure the ACE queues are clear; trades are matched within 15 minutes and reported to TRACE. Ability to understand the importance of industry regulation
- Review the TRAQS website for Unmatched Trades reports and Rejecting Trades. Address mismatch trades with Trading and Sales. Action emails for rejects within the 15 minute time frame to avoid violations.
- Support the Banking teams, front office traders, ability to work with inter-departments to pursue business and control solutions. Respond to Trader or Sales inquiries.
- Work closely with trading desk to resolve any trade booking and/or valuation issues.
- Process intercompany reconciliations to validate trade flow is accurate. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies. Review Onyx Monitor to ensure trades flow down to back-office systems.
- Coordinate with Compliance and Desk Supervision to industry regulations and internal processing requirements.
- Participate in new projects and initiatives, ad-hoc issues and system enhancement UAT.
- Provide information and support to internal and external auditors.
- Daily Broker checkout to confirm trades. Daily Intercompany reconciliation performed.
- Ability to comprehend and verify legal docs (Credit Agreements) – for doc tracking and covenant tracking
- Review Asset Management’s Set-up of new facilities & amendments in the system
- Documentation Tracking – Verify Credit Agreements and manage outstanding documents with relation to FFS Business
- Automation experience / Macros /Alteryx/Pitchbook/Excel skills
- Track receipt of monthly and quarterly borrowing bases in parallel with Deal Team and Asset Management. Track/Research/Standardize new funds to update in the system
- Reconcile and validate borrowing bases and prepare data tape to update collateral with the latest asset values
- Review calculations of concentration limits and LTVs in borrowing base reports against system calculations
- Communicate any breaches or material findings to Deal Team and Asset Management
- Monitor draws and payoffs and update Nomura net loan amounts
Skills, Experience, Qualifications and Knowledge Required
- 2+ years’ experience in trade support
- Product knowledge - Corp Bonds, Fund Finance Services, Equity products
- Knowledge of Promerit, & TRACE is a plus
- Experience with data visualization is highly desired; e.g. Alteryx or similiar tool
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced work environment.
- Team player with strong communication skills.
- Bachelors degree is required
- Proficient in Excel and ability to quickly learn internal & industry applications
- Control – strong risk management focus. Ability to anticipate problems and potential risk impact
- Proactive, self-starter, who can be dynamic and implement process changes.
- Licenses are a plus but not required
