Department Overview

 

The Chief Transformation Office (CTO) function is responsible for the delivery of change across the Nomura Group, working closely with the other Chief Corporate Officers in support of the business divisions to ensure we meet our regulatory and strategic long-term goals. Working in the transformation team will provide opportunity to understand Nomura Risk businesses & processes. The CTO team partners with business and technology functions to support implementation of various initiatives.

Successful candidates will work closely with a wide range of Global stakeholders including global Risk Officers, Analysts, Risk middle office, Risk Technology, Global Transformation teams and other business functions to deliver various regulatory and strategic risk changes.  

 

 

Role Description

 

As part of the CTO team, we have a requirement for a delivery focused hybrid Junior Project manager/Business analyst with risk domain knowledge. The candidate would be supporting the Senior project & programme managers and collaborating with the wider project team. Team comprises of Business Analysts, Business SMEs, IT and cross workstream leads within Risk Management

  • Supporting delivery of the project scope with stakeholders and managing the project scope throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Role requires a flexible and adaptable mindset where cross programme working will be necessary. Leveraging learnings that benefit cross project activities will be vital.
  • Supporting resources/team members across project team
  • Supporting the Project Manager and Programme manager with day-to-day PM activities including updating reports and project plans, putting together meeting materials and coordinating stakeholder discussions.
  • Understanding and monitoring cross-project dependencies that may impact project delivery.
  • Ensuring delivery of projects is in accordance with Nomura's project management governance protocols and standards.
  • Effective stakeholder management relating to the project, ensuring through both day-to-day management.
  • Timely reporting of project status, issues, risks to various management team and governance forum as appropriate
  • Collaborate with other BAs to assist IT teams with an understanding of requirements and functional requirements specification.
  • Good team player who would be required to work closely with wider stakeholders and core project team.

 

 

Desired Skills and Experience 

 

Reporting to the Lead Project Manager, the role will comprise the following responsibilities:

  • Equivalent work experience of 3+ years ideally in the Change management arena with strong Business Analyst skills
  • Understanding of core Project life cycle with experience across each core function
  • Excellent presentational, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to communicate at a range of levels within the organization.
  • Exposure to various tools (e.g., Confluence, JIRA) to manage project deliverables.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness of delivery.
  • Proven experience facilitating the elicitation of requirements from end users and translating them to user, functional and non-functional requirements for Development Teams. Work with development teams (IT) to clarify that design meets requirements.
  • Detailed understanding of credit or market risk limit management processes
  • Detailed knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, Project & Visio
  • Excellent organization skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience with SQL, Python advantageous.
  • The ability to be a “self-starter”, working without supervision and a proactive approach.  Candidates must be open to challenges from their peers and must be willing to work under the direction of peer team members who may be leading pieces of work.
  • The project remit is Global, so role will require engaging with colleagues is multi regions.
  • Translating requirements into functional/non-functional requirements and collaborating with development teams for them to produce the technical design.  Validate requirements through interrogating data sources.
  • Own body of work, acting as single point of contact with development teams if/should questions arise during the build.  Escalate issues to the Project Manager and follow the appropriate governance structure of the programme.
  • Develop “best practice” analysis documentation standards to clearly define and communicate the business requirements and design & implementation of the most appropriate solutions to meet those requirements.
  • Support data analysis needed to determine and finalize requirements.
