Nomura seeks to recruit an Associate level professional to work in the firm’s Senior Relationship Management team. 

 

Role Description:

In this role the candidate will be a member of Nomura’s US Senior Relationship Management (SRM) team, supporting the Senior Relationship Managers and Global Head of the SRM team based in New York. Ideally the candidate will have experience working with Financial Sponsors and Insurance Companies. The SRM team covers the firms most important & largest revenue generating clients, engaging with client’s C-suite and key decision makers. The team works in collaboration with the Global Markets and Investment Banking business across all product areas (Fixed Income & Equity) and closely across regions with our Asia and EMEA SRM colleagues. Through the role, this individual will get exposure to a wide variety of clients, products, and services that Nomura provides. This role will give the candidate visibility into investment & market activity.

 

Job Duties

  • Prepare and maintain holistic client relationship account reviews and client presentations for both internal and external use
  • Produce client briefing memos inclusive of revenue ranks/ metrics/ and analysis to be provided internally to senior management and SRMs
  • Analyze client revenues and track Global SRM client trends across products and regions
  • Work with large data sets to assess client wallets, wallet share and identify new opportunities with clients
  • Utilize firm’s CRM/ Salesforce platform to track client interactions and reporting metrics
  • Demonstrate exceptional organizational and planning skills, and manage the coordination of multiple activities working to specific deadlines
  • Exhibit strong communication skills
  • Work with Nomura’s client technology stakeholders to develop, enhance and leverage the firm’s CRM / technology solutions to institutionalize client relationships
  • Assist with internal and external coordination of Legal/ Credit/ Onboarding/Tax / KYC efforts as it relates to clients’ documentation
  • Attend management prep meetings and client meetings with SRM colleagues
  • Develop an understanding of Nomura Group and the various strategic ways we interact with our clients as well as our holistic client proposition, i.e. what does Nomura offer to our clients?
  • Develop a general knowledge of Global Markets and CFS/IBD products and solutions, and understanding of the types of business opportunities with clients
  • Develop a fundamental knowledge of Nomura’s strategic clients, primarily focused on Financial Institutions

 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • Capital Markets experience required
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative team environment, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong Microsoft Suite skills (*NOTE: Must be inclusive of PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Strong Bloomberg skills
  • Analytical with the ability to synthesize different data sets
  • Clear and accurate written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to craft and give presentations
  • Ability to interact efficiently with other areas in GM, IB, Operations, Legal, Treasury and other areas of the firm
  • Understanding of the value of client relationships and developing a long-term client franchise
