Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class
capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk
management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and
are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the
platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.
Division Overview:
Nomura Global Markets division, based in Mumbai, the front-office team delivers pricing, modelling and
risk management expertise to the Global Markets business. Founded as a centre of excellence, the
group leads the way in price discovery and portfolio optimization techniques and is integral to the
business’ aggressive revenue targets. The team is playing an integral role in structuring, pricing, risk
management and new idea generation.
Business Unit Overview:
The Fixed Income Electronic Trading Client Service team is responsible for managing Nomura’s Rates
and Credit Electronic trading offering. This primarily means overseeing client distribution, supporting
configurations on electronic trading platforms and supporting electronic trading activity. The team
supports businesses globally and there is heavy interaction with sales, trading, technology, and external
clients/vendors.
By developing strong relationships with our client base through consistent interaction, independent
advice and pre-eminent access to Asia, we have built a powerful global franchise.
The electronic FX and Fixed Income offering at Nomura is a critical component of our business.
Electronic trading volumes in the industry continue to grow and offer clients an efficient means of
execution.
The Electronic Client Service team is responsible for supporting Nomura’s FX and Fixed Income
electronic trading offering to clients 23/5. This primarily means configuration of clients for trading on
Multi Dealer Platforms, direct FIX/APIs and Nomura’s single dealer platform – NomuraLive. The team
provides real time first line customer support to clients and proactively monitors flows on across
platforms to identify and escalate issues.
Role & Responsibilities:
Mind Set:
Mandatory Desired Domain
Minimum 2/3 years of experience working within markets.
Knowledge of OTC and Cash FX/Fixed Income products and markets is desirable – as is exposure to electronic trading.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are critical.
Hands-on Python or VBA macros and technology mind-set is a must.
Understanding of Global markets.
Excellent team work and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple senior stakeholders and interact with all levels of individuals in the business.
Ability to multi task and work in a high pressure and dynamic environment is critical.
Responsible for working with regional stakeholders in EMEA/Asia/US to enable client traders to trade electronically on various execution platforms like Bloomberg, Tradeweb and MarketAxess.
Core BAU tasks will involve mapping Buy side clients on internal applications and etrading platforms to trade with Nomura electronically.
Lead change initiatives aimed at streamlining processes and creating efficiencies within the Client Service function in Global Markets Powai.
Manage Regulatory change projects that impact Nomura’s electronic trading offering.
Partner with regional eTrading leads and product managers to support the development of electronic trading capabilities.
Ability to take initiatives to automate some of the repetitive manual BAU tasks.
