Divisional Overview:
Banking division (ECM, DCM, M&A). Wholesale division operates across all four regions Japan, Asia, Europe and Americas and is a globally integrated franchise. Nomura is one of the leading global investment banks and the only global Asian investment bank. Business Unit Overview:
Strategy division is pivotal in shaping Nomura’s Longer – term strategy for Wholesale. The Strategy team works closely with senior management across businesses and regions on a range of management initiatives, and develops, evaluates, and executes plans for strategic transformation, restructuring and new business growth including in-organic initiatives, and operating model.
Position Specifications:
Experience - 6+ years
Qualification- MBA or MS or B.Tech from top tier institute
Role & Responsibilities:
- Work as a part of the Wholesale Strategy division on global, regional and divisional projects
- Provide analytical support and thought leadership expertise on strategy initiatives, with a focus on strategic development, long term business growth, and overall positioning .Identify, analyse and monitor issues that affect profitability, growth, and productivity
- Support management / business on strategic projects (e.g. identifying opportunities in new areas of growth, developing medium-term business strategy and planning, acquisition screening / evaluation for inorganic opportunities, new digital business growth opportunities etc.)
- Strategic assessment of underperforming businesses and development of scenarios / recommendations for business heads
- Prepare presentations for senior management board meetings, investor day, off-sites, town Halls
- Conduct analysis of the competitive and general macro / market environment for senior management presentations. Develop market sizing / revenue pool models
- Most of the projects require working closely with strategy team members, business heads and CAOs, finance and other functional teams in different regions; working independently or with the support of another member of the team

Mandatory Skill Set
- 6+ years of relevant work experience in a strategy role, in a consulting firm or a strategy/business planning unit of a financial institution
- Strong knowledge of the financial services industry
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and technical abilities
- Problem solving and creative thinking skills
- Strong communication skills (written & oral) and ability to interact with senior firm leaders
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and meet project deadlines
- Highly motivated individual with proven ability to solve problems; strong project management, interpersonal and negotiation skills organized and productive especially under high-pressure, time-sensitive scenarios
- Attention to detail
