Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.
Division Overview:
The Operations division provides the support and control infrastructure that enables the Firm to develop and deliver financial products throughout the world. Working with the Sales, Trading and Information Technology Divisions, Operations professionals are responsible for the management and execution of transactions in a manner which maximizes profitability and minimizes risk. Our division is responsible for the management and execution of millions of securities transactions on a daily basis. Our responsibilities include trade processing, confirmation, settlement, fails management, margin, asset servicing, risk management, reference data management and various other client services. In partnership with sales, trading, prime services, information technology and other teams from across the bank, we apply a continual focus on improving productivity and efficiency, while seeking new and innovative ways to support our clients' changing needs.
Business Unit Overview:
The role of Shared Services is to support the activities of the Global Markets and IBD businesses. The division operates across a large number of global legal entities in order to perform a diverse range of client servicing, risk management and regulatory functions, as well as the more traditional clearing and settlement responsibilities. Specifically India Shared Services provides a level of support for all the regions and entities that the above services are provided in locally. It is further subdivided into the following highly specialized teams.

Role & Responsibilities:
 Manage Global Security Settlements’ operations across Nomura Entities
 Work closely with other Business units like Front Office, Middle Office, Technology etc. to ensure smooth conduct of operational tasks
 Responsible for management of Security Settlements based Applications & ensure that these applications are updated with recent market driven initiatives
 Recognize potential for greater processing & reporting efficiencies & make recommendations accordingly
 Drive strategic direction for the Security Settlements team & create a close integration with global footprint
 Identifies, analyses & resolves complex problems related to product lines or functions, using general practises & change precedents to resolve
 Ensure proper communication & compliance of company & regulatory policies affecting areas managed

 Own client & employee experience for entire Security Settlements’ operations
 20 + years of relevant industry experience
 High ethical standards & strong control mind-set
 Demonstrates Executive presence in interactions with various stakeholders
 Ability to manage & develop strategic plans for Business
 Ability to manage alliances, client relationships & cross functional initiatives
 Technical Skills/ Business Domain, Soft Skills, Security Settlements Operations background
 Highly Motivated & excellent time management & prioritization skills
 Effective communication skills & ability to work in high pressure environment
 Ability to analyse issues & derive solutions
 Proactive approach to manage risk
 Translate data into key business metrics & decision making
 Build a culture & process to identify, mitigate & control operational risk, audit & regulators
 Require in depth understanding & experience of Security Trade life cycle
 Expertise in technical skills like Alteryx, Power BI, Robotics, Machine Learning etc.
 Strong Analytical bend & experience in building Data Visuals for senior management
