Divisional Overview:

 

The Business Resilience Department in AEJ is an integral component of the Nomura Group Business Resilience Team. Globally, it operates as part of the Nomura Group Business Resilience framework, ensuring consistent standards and practices across all regions while addressing local regulatory requirements.

The department provides opportunities for cross-functional collaboration and professional development with other specialized Business Resilience teams including Business Continuity Management, Operational Resilience, Crisis Management, and Third Party Risk Management. This integrated approach enables team members to develop comprehensive resilience expertise while contributing to the organization's overall operational stability.

This function is essential in managing AEJ Business Resilience Governance and Framework, aligned with the Nomura global risk framework and risk appetite, and in accordance with Regional Regulatory Standards. The team develops comprehensive resilience strategies that address both global consistency requirements and local market-specific challenges across Asia, Europe, and Japan

Role & Responsibilities:

This role will be reporting into the AEJ Business Resilience Head to support the business resilience team in AEJ.  As a part of this role you will be required to:

Regional Management Reporting & Analytics Support

  • Support AEJ regional leadership by developing comprehensive management reporting frameworks for business resilience metrics and KPIs for AEJ
  • Prepare and deliver regular updates / presentations for senior management on regional resilience posture, risk assessments, and operational performance
  • Work with the AEJ regional head to create and maintain executive dashboards and scorecards to support decision-making on resilience readiness across AEJ that aligns with the global approach.
  • Assist in quarterly regional business reviews and provide analytical support for annual resilience assessments

Cross-Regional Meeting Facilitation & Coordination Support

  • Facilitate AEJ Regional Business Resilience Committee meetings and coordinate cross-functional resilience working groups across AEJ
  • Support crisis management coordination and business resilience exercise planning for the AEJ region
  • Provide meeting management and coordination support during regional business disruptions
  • Assist in managing relationships with key regional stakeholders, local regulators, and external partners across Asia, Europe, and Japan

Regional Operational Process Support & Streamlining

  • Assist in standardizing business resilience planning processes across all AEJ business units while accommodating local regulatory requirements
  • Help develop and maintain regional operational playbooks for various disruption scenarios specific to AEJ markets
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize response procedures and recovery capabilities across the region

AEJ Team Support & Coordination

  • Support and coordinate business resilience teams across AEJ functions and locations
  • Assist in establishing clear processes, workflows, and performance metrics that work across different regulatory and cultural environments
  • Help foster a culture of proactive risk management and operational excellence across the AEJ region

  • Minimum Bachelors Degree level qualification
  • Previous experience with Operational or Business Resilience, with familiarity around Singapore and other AEJ countries’ landscape.
  • Prior experience in audit or risk management function
  • Self-starter with a lot of initiatives, well-organized, attention for details
  • Willing to learn and adapt to new technology and firm’s systems is necessary.
  • Strategic mindset – ability to analyze processes and data to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities

 

 

 

  • Good interpersonal and communications skills – ability to coordinate across functions and handle multiple stakeholders (some projects management experience may be desirable)

 

Technical
