Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. Divisional Overview:

The Human Resources team partners with Nomura’s businesses to offer a consistent global approach to people management with local ownership and delivery. Role & Responsibilities:

ER framework and policy management:

  • Partner with ER Head to execute and embed established Employee Relations frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure fair, consistent and compliant application across the India market.
  • Partner with HR leadership and business stakeholders to implement ER frameworks and coach HR team on best practices
  • Ensure all ER activities and policies comply with Indian labour laws, regulations, and company values.
  • Continuously review and adapt ER policies and ensure that ER policies are fit for purpose in regulatory environment in India
  • Drive annual policy affirmations and governance
  • Work closely with internal legal team / external legal consultants to manage employee litigations
  • Support ER Head in investigations, grievances and disciplinary actions with all level of complexity and risks, ensuring resolution in line with firm’s Code of Conduct.
  • Support HRBPs and Business Divisions in Org. Restructuring, Performance cases and employee grievance handling
  • Exercise sound judgment in decision-making, escalating high-risk or sensitive matters appropriately and in alignment with firm’s policies and legal requirements.
  • In house capability building in partnership with HRBPs
  • Dispute resolution and problem solving skills 

Regulatory Changes

  • Lead labor codes impact assessment and implementation for India entities
  • Review and advise appropriate actions on ad-hoc regulatory changes

Stakeholder Engagement: 

  • Partner with Business and HRBPs as a credible ER partner with solid technical advisory ensuring decisions align with company policies, local laws and global standards.
  • Influence and coach stakeholders to drive a positive ER culture and compliance with company values.
  • Act as a key ER advisor in conduct committee and other internal governance forums.

Analysis & Reporting:

  • Track and maintain records of ER cases, investigations, and outcomes.
  • Produce data driven analysis for suitable actions to build effective culture building

Case Investigations & Management:

  • Support ER Head in investigations, grievances and disciplinary actions with all level of complexity and risks, ensuring resolution in line with firm’s Code of Conduct.
  • Support HRBPs and Business Divisions in Org. Restructuring, Performance cases and employee grievance handling
  • Exercise sound judgment in decision-making, escalating high-risk or sensitive matters appropriately and in alignment with firm’s policies and legal requirements.
