Global Markets Division in Powai, the front-office team, delivers pricing, modelling and risk management expertise to the Global Markets business. Founded as a center of excellence, the group leads the way in price discovery and portfolio optimization techniques and is integral to the business’ aggressive revenue targets. The team is playing an integral role in structuring, pricing, risk management and new idea generation. The Whole Loan Trading desk is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our trading desk by acquiring, managing and analysing large datasets related to residential and business purpose mortgages. Leveraging your strong data analytics skills, you will derive valuable insights that inform trading strategies, risk management, transaction management and portfolio monitoring. You will collaborate closely with traders and the transaction management team, effectively communicating complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Role & Responsibilities:

    • Support the Whole Loan Trading team through data analysis and enable data-driven decision making
    • Gather, clean and organize data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy through rigorous data quality checks and validation processes.
    • Design and maintain interactive dashboards, reports and visualizations to effectively communicate insights and enable data-driven decision-making.
    • Develop and implement data models, algorithms and analytical frameworks to uncover patterns, trends and opportunities within the mortgage data.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into actionable data solutions.
    • Continuously explore new data sources and techniques to enhance the team's analytical capabilities.

Key Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience in data manipulation, analysis and visualization libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Plotly/Dash).
  • Understanding of Whole Loans and the mortgage industry is a significant advantage.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI, with the ability to create compelling and insightful visualizations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with a keen eye for identifying patterns and trends in complex data sets.
