Job Title: Sr. Software Engineer
Role and Responsibilities:
Individual contributor and Java/J2EE Developer having 2-5 years experience with good knowledge and experience of Java, Database, Spring framework, and Shell Scripting. The candidate should have good technical knowledge and must have a sound and proven track record in Java/J2EE and RDBMS and should also have experience of software development processes, methodologies and best practices.
Responsible for impact analysis, development, code reviews of modules end to end.
- Responsible for development and code reviews.
- For stream-lining build & release process. (Jenkins, Maven etc.)-
- Develop, maintain and support applications.
- Delivery of enhancement and maintenance work to pre-agreed timescales and requirements for the application. This will involve:
a. Ensure delivery of these items of work to Nomura development standards and adhering to all development lifecycle processes.
b. Liasing with business groups to clearly define requirements and document these.
c. Provide user support and technical 3rd line support for the margining platform.
• Develop, maintain and support the applications in the Margin Technology area.
• Work with users / stakeholders including application owners for upstream systems or vendors to resolve any support issues raised by them.
• Take full ownership of issues that arise - provide analysis of issues, escalate them as and when necessary, and take them through to resolution within defined SLAs.
Qualification, Experience & Skills:
Qualification: Bachelors in Engineering or MCA equivalent.
Experience: 3 - 7 years of relevant IT experience
Skills:
Technical (Must Have):
- Core Java
- J2EE/Spring framework
- RDBMS PL/SQL, Writing Stored Procedures, Query tuning
- Linux/Unix Shell Scripting
Other Preferred Skills:
- Docker
- Spring batch / Spring cloud data flow
- Autosys
- Capital Markets preferably with experience on Operations/batch processing applications.
Soft Skills:
- Is structured, organized and methodical in his/her approach to technical and programming challenges.
- Is self-motivated and able to motivate team members.
- Excellent communication skills (spoken and written English and listening skills).
- Ability to work independently and handhold/lead junior team members
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
