Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer within the Global Technology Organisation. Primary responsibility will be to support and develop Backstage functionality within our area. Help develop custom actions and plugins which integrate with various applications within the firm depending on developer feedback. Secondary responsibility will be to support multiple products within the area including Jira, Confluence, and multiple in-house applications. The role will help us support our existing applications and continue to develop new applications to promote adoption. Below are the key responsibilities of the DevOps Engineer Associate role: Backstage 1. Build out of new functionality. 2. Maintenance of issues backlog and support queries 3. Onboarding of new teams and help promote adoption. 4. Assist with governance around the application and inner sourcing processes. 5. Assist in managing continuous improvement of engineering, delivery, and operational practices Skills and qualifications:  A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience  3+ years of hands on experience in React js  Hands-on DevOps experience  Good working knowledge of Backstage  Good knowledge of basic Jira administrator actions (creating workflows, managing projects, setting up schemes etc.)  Good knowledge of basic Confluence administrator actions (creating spaces, configuring spaces etc.)  Exposure to agile development practices  A good understanding and exposure interacting with Gitlab, Jenkins and Nexus  Development experience with Service Portals  Container technology: Docker, Kubernetes  Understanding of scripting languages such as Python, Bash etc.  Web-development experience using JavaScript / Node.js  MySQL database experience  CI/CD experience  Hands on technical experience in automation for development/infra/production stability  Enthusiasm and ability to learn and apply new technologies  Strong analytical problem-solving skills  Strong communication skills for cross team collaboration  Ability to influence business and IT stakeholders for continuous improvement  Demonstrated skills in working across multi-functional teams to bring increased business value through seeing the bigger picture, collaboration and alignment of diverse needs  A strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audience, as well as influence and negotiate with stakeholders Preferred Skills  Experience of working in Financial IT  Experience of working with senior development and infrastructure managers within an investment bank or similar production environment
