Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.

Role Overview:

The role will be a member of the Cloud Operations team in Powai, Mumbai. Project focus will be a combination of platform, private deliverables. This will involve close collaboration with platform engineering groups and transparent planning and management reporting. This position will directly contribute to the overall infra architecture and platform offering, supporting the deployment of on-premise applications, driving infrastructure implementations and serving as subject matter expert to the user community, across Infrastructure and Platform as a Service Iaas/PaaS/IaaC).

This is an operations role, Providing a support through follow-the-sun model for Global Cloud Operations team, including on-call rotation and weekend coverage as needed.

Required Experience & Skills

Essential to have most of the following:

• 3 - 8 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge/experience of using Terraform and Ansible
• Scripting and Automation skills (e.g. Python, Shell scripting, PowerShell, Powercli)
• Experience on VMware platform or Redhat OpenShift
• Exposure to large scale IT infrastructure support
• OS Platform knowledge Linux (RedHat 9.x or 8.x) OR Windows (2019, 2022)
• ITIL experience including change and incident management preferred
• Excellent English written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Experience in observability / dashboading tools e.g. PowerBI/Grafana, will be an advantage
• CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), will be an advantage
• Japanese language knowledge will be an advantage

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Handle Asia & Europe shifts to support of cloud services through follow-the-sun support model
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide weekend coverage as required
• Respond to and resolve incidents, outages, and performance issues within defined SLAs
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) using tools like Terraform
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine operational tasks
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployments
• Conduct post-incident reviews and implement preventive measures
• Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks
• Plan and execute infrastructure changes following established procedures
• Coordinate with stakeholders for scheduled maintenance windows
