Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Powai’ s world class capabilities in trading support, research, information technology, financial control, operations, risk management and legal support have played a key role in facilitating Nomura’s global operations and are an integral part of Nomura’s global expansion plans. The Powai operation is a critical part of the platform to support the growth of Nomura’s global business.
The successful candidate will join a global, diverse team of engineers in a hands-on capacity to:
- Providing a support through follow-the-sun model for Global Cloud Operations team, including on-call rotation and weekend coverage as needed.
- Deliver Public Cloud projects through direct contribution to design and code, coordinating with Cloud Engineering
- Manage cloud environments spanning our AWS cloud platforms
- Lead incident response and problem resolution with urgency
- Develop and maintain robust Infrastructure as Code and automation artifacts
- Optimize cloud systems to improve reliability and stability while maintaining deployment velocity
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes infrastructure, networking, and container orchestration.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to optimize application deployment and performance on Kubernetes.
- Document processes, procedures, and configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
Technical Expertise
- 5-8 years hands-on experience in AWS platform
- 5-8 years hands-on experience with automation technologies (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Ansible)
- Working knowledge of Rancher/RKE2 and AWS EKS Kubernetes environments.
- Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker/Podman.
- Experience with monitoring and logging solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.(Grafana will be preferrable)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional teams.
- Working Knowledge of any of Linux/Unix/Windows OS will be required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Preferred Skills
- AWS certification (e.g Certified AWS Solution Architect, Certified AWS Sysops Administrator)
- Kubernetes certification (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer)
- Experience managing cloud platforms using IAC technologies (Terraform Enterprise)
- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Experience in programming skills in Python for cloud API automation
- Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments
- Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies
- Knowledge of hybrid and multi-cloud strategies and implementations.
