Nomura Services India, (Powai) supports Nomura’s businesses around the world. Department Overview :

JBS, Japan Business Services, supports IT application requirements for multiple business lines like Wealth Management, Investment Banking etc. Wealth Management business specializes in providing personalized services to high-net-worth individuals, while Investment Banking business works with corporate clients on their requirements for M&A. These businesses cater to the needs of our clients by delivering bespoke solutions that leverage our global markets, investment banking, research, trust service and asset management expertise.

Key Support activities of Wealth Management include:

• Middle Office Support
• Reference Data
• Settlement
• Onboarding
• KYC
• Regulatory reporting
• Confirmation preparation and sending
• Statement processing
• Customer Relationship Management

Role Overview :

A successful candidate will join the JBS IT team, which manages multiple applications across Wealth Management business, Investment Banking business in Japan. This role involves collaboration with Japan based WM IT, JBS-IT, Program management team to deliver strategic technical solutions and maintenance of existing systems. Candidate will be part of the Powai JBS IT team. The position interfaces with diverse stakeholders and requires strong communication skills (Japanese language proficiency is a plus but not mandatory).

Role & Responsibilities :

• Experience of technical implementation of the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including implementation and release management.
• Decompose large features or projects (epics) into smaller, manageable user stories or tasks
• Create hierarchical breakdowns of complex technical work into specific deliverables and identify dependencies between tasks and sequence them appropriately
• Well versed in Agile way of working with experience in Sprint Planning, Execution etc.
• Conduct thorough analysis and troubleshooting for production issues. Act as the primary tech owner for resolving complex queries and ensuring timely responses. Continuously enhancing test suite to ensure comprehensive test coverage and high-quality code deliverables.
• Foster strong collaboration and communication across global development, QA and support teams.
• Actively participate in firm-wide strategic initiatives, contributing technical expertise and insights to support organizational objectives.
• Enhance and support the JBS IT frameworks, ensuring they are robust and scalable to meet evolving business demands.

Skill Set :

Essential:

• A committed team player who possesses strong technical skills along with good written and verbal communication skills. Able to work with people across different departments, countries and regions.
• Good communication skills (clear and concise).
• Ability to think logically and systematically to devise solutions along with the team
• Ability to exhibit high level of professionalism in team-oriented environment.
• Ownership of technical deliverables for assigned areas.

Technical:

• Should have 5+ years of developer experience in Java, Spring, React or Python & React associated technology.
• Strong knowledge in Core Java is must along with basic design patterns.
• Good understanding of Java-Database connectivity (JDBC, Persistence API, Spring-JDBC).
• Knowledge in Spring Boot and Spring framework is required.
• A good understanding of webservices (REST based) is expected.
• Working on Stored Procedure and SQL is required.
• Experience in Tools like Jira, Gitlab is expected.
• Strong understanding of CI-CD tools, Cloud native applications is expected.

Domain :

• Exposure to retail banking domain is plus.
• Cyberark, Sensitive data handling system exposure is preferred but not mandatory
• Japanese work culture exposure is preferred but not mandatory
